Our presentation is called “Mardi Gras (The Carnival)". Our costumes are designed to illustrate, the traditional colors of Mardi Gras: Purple – which denotes justice; Green – which symbolizes faith; and Gold for Power. Our costumes are designed with elaborate feathers, which serve as a symbol of our ability as humans to rise above problems, pains, heartbreaks, and illnesses. Our music will be provided by Arious Soundsation, (a sound created to spread positive vibes/music around the world), and our sound will be provided by one of D.C.’s top sound system. This year in the parade, we will feature on the truck, International Reggae recording artists “Pinchers” and “Tuffest”, direct from Jamaica, as well as local artists. Additionally, we have teamed up with an up and coming group/band called “Teddy Bear Promotions”. The owner of this company (Mr. Atkins) has been successfully promoted reggae music in this community for several years. We feel us working together will really help with the inclusion of reggae music in the parade, especially since it is a Caribbean Carnival. This will indeed bring diversity to this wonderful event, and it will help us to continue to promote peace, love and unite between the nations and islands through music.
