FESTIVAL DE LAS AMERICAS   Latin & Caribbean Festival

Saturday October 2, 2004

Noon – 5 PM

 LOCATION:  Westlake High School    Located at 3300 Middletown Road – just one mile west of the St. Charles Towne                                         Center Mall is in Waldorf, Maryland (Charles County).

  ADMISSION:                        FREE for all ages

OVERVIEW:  Everyone is invited to celebrate the traditional cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean at Festival de l                                        las Americas.

In addition to performances by four live bands you

can participate in a FREE Salsa Dance Workshop

and a FREE Workshop in Mexican Folklorico

Dancing. 

Enjoy music and performances by:

·         MARIACHI LOS AMIGOS

·         QUEZTALES MEXICAN DANCE ENSEMBLE - presenting dance traditions from Mexico's Veracruz, Jaliscos and Baja California states.

·         SOL Y RUMBA  performing Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, Merenque, & Conjunto

·         OASIS ISLAND SOUNDS – performing reggae and calypso

·         HERMANAS COMPRES – Dominican Gospel Band

·         ST. PETER’S CHURCH CHOIR of WALDORF

·         DUENDE CAMARON  - a Gipsy Rumba guitar duet.

·         BLAZE TORCH – Spanish Gospel Rap
