 JULY 14 THROUGH JULY 16, 2006
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOUISIANA REGGAE FUNK BAND
HENRY TURNER JR. & FLAVOR
HURRICANE FUNDRAISING NORTHWEST TOUR DATES
JULY 14 THROUGH JULY 16, 2006

West Hollywood, CA Hit City Records recording artist HENRY TURNER, JR &
FLAVOR continue their Hurricane Fundraising Tour in the Northwest with
several in dates in Oregon. (See schedule below). HENRY TURNER, JR &
FLAVOR is Turner on guitar and vocals, Ronnie Houston on drums and Irie
Hipp on bass.

HENRY TURNER, JR. & FLAVORs unique genre of music - Louisiana
Reggae/Funk, with jazz, blues and R&B infusions has been described as… a
sure crowd pleaser. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the
band released two singles: GIVE ME LOVE, which was picked for downloads
by Hurricane Healing (www.hurricanehealing.us) and MERRY CHRISTMAS, which
garnered extensive airplay throughout the United States.

This year the band released Louisiana Legends and Poltricks, a
tongue-in-cheek look at local and national political leaders and their
slow response to improve human conditions since the recent rash of
hurricanes.

I Like to Smoke, Smoke, Smoke, (but I don't smoke dope) just released
in support of the upcoming Hemp Fest in Eugene, Oregon, is an anthem to
open mindedness and liberalism. The song is currently being featured on
the Marijuana Music Awards website at
www.myspace.com/marijuanamusicawards.
Additional radio play hits include Fat Baby, Limbo, Louisiana
Funk, Praising Jah and Family, on their Will Work For Money,
Facing Millennium and Louisiana Gumbo Combo CDs, which are currently

Foundation, Jamaica.

The luncheon is planned because the occurrence

of several hurricanes and floods, which have ravaged

the island of Jamaica, has resulted in reduction of

the operating funds for the Foundation and other

similar organizations.  This reduction of financial

resources adversely affects the ability of the

Foundation to carry out its vision to equip and

empower the Inner City Youth with Education and

Skills Training.  As the island has not fully

recovered from the damages of hurricane and floods

and is already in another hurricane season, the need

for financial assistance is increased.

Helping Hands for the Poor Inc- a non-profit

corporation, was established in USA to support the

St. Patrick’s Foundation in Jamaica

St. Patrick’s Foundation operates the following:

·         The St. Patrick’s Human Resource Centre (Waterhouse)

·         The St. Margaret’s Human Resource Centre (Olympic Gardens)

·         The St. Monica’s Home for the abandoned elderly (White Marl)

·         The Riverton City Human Resource Centre

·         Christ the Redeemer Human  Resource Centre (Seaview Gardens)

Specific services offered by the Foundation include:

♦ Personal human resource development

♦ Education (remedial, primary, secondary)

♦ Day care for the elderly

♦ Health clinics

♦ Skills training: Baking, sewing, tailoring & woodwork

The Foundation has developed community outreach programs that include job placement (in one year about 500 inner-city youths were placed in jobs) and Focus Groups (seminars, workshops, discussion, groups on AIDS, family life, drug abuse, health and police community relationships).  An education fund was established to ensure quality education for the youths of the communities.  Through this Fund, school fees, lunch, transportation, and scholarships provided to qualifying students.

The Founder of St. Patrick's Foundation, The Rt. Rev. Monsignor Richard Albert, was born in Bronx, New York, USA. He recently celebrated 30 years in the ministry; twenty-eight of these years were spent in Jamaica.  Earlier in his ministry he was assigned to Stella Maris Catholic Church in Shortwood, St. Andrew.  Recently he was elevated to the position of Vicar of the Parish of St. Catherine.

Caribeana Imperia (continues)

In this original musical production, 3canal will lead an unprecedented collective of artists from Trinidad & Tobago and Washington, DC in speaking through the rhythm and movement of the islands with rapso, described as the poetry of calypso with the consciousness of soca. Bollywood Fashion Awards - July 29, 2006

Press Release

July 26th 2006

SHOWBIZ LEGEND BEN VEREEN TO RECEIVE SPECIAL “SAMMY DAVIS JR AWARD” AT THE BOLLYWOOD FASHION AWARDS

The family of legend Sammy Davis Jr. has chosen the Bollywood Fashion Awards to be the platform for the special “Sammy Davis Jr. Award.”   Sammy Davis Jr., often described as "the world's greatest entertainer” also epitomized the symbiotic relationship between entertainment and fashion which, fittingly, is the mantra of the Bollywood Fashion Awards.

Ben Vereen is a true American legend.  The Tony winner’s name is synonymous with a myriad of Broadway shows including Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin, Sweet Charity, Wicked and The Wizard of Oz.  He also had many notable film roles in hit movies such as Funny Lady and All That Jazz.  In television, he was the star of Tenspeed and Brown Shoe.  He also appeared in popular series such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Jamie Foxx Show, Star-Trek The Next Generation, and The Nanny but will always be remembered for his role as “Chicken” George Moore in the cult TV Series Roots.  Vereen followed these achievements with his own network special, "Ben Vereen: His Roots," which won seven Emmy Awards. He also appeared in "The Jesse Owens Story," and the CBS mini-series, " Ellis Island ," for which he received a Golden Globe nomination.  Most recently, Vereen graced the Broadway stage starring as 'The Ghost of Christmas Present' in the Madison Square Garden production of "A Christmas Carol" to outstanding reviews

“We were initially going to keep the honoree name a surprise but we were just to excited and honored that, Ben Vereen, a legend, will be participating in this year’s Awards,” said Chairman of the Bollywood Awards, Kamal Dandona.  His excitement is evident, especially because, the Bollywood Awards has achieved another “first.”  It was the first South Asian Awards ceremony to have an international celebrity participate in the festivities.  Michael Jackson attended the inaugural ceremony of the Bollywood Awards in 1999 and now, the Bollywood Awards, is the first to have an Honorary Award instituted by the family of an American legend, an honor indeed.

Major celebrities like Tyra Banks, Jerry Hall, Steven Seagal, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Nikki Hilton, and many others have donned Indian outfits and finery at past Fashion Awards.  This year will be no exception.  The Bollywood Fashion Awards 2006 will be the 6th annual gala event of international stature honoring the outstanding achievements of Indian fashion designers during the prior year. Unlike any fashion awards of its kind, the event will bring together the top international designers, most ravishing models, and the hottest celebrities together to honor the colliding worlds of fashion and entertainment. The Awards will be held at the world-famous Roseland Ballroom.  For over 75 years, the Roseland Ballroon has hosted concerts and fashion shows for the likes of for Madonna and Versace respectively.

Past Designers who have set the catwalk on fire at the previous Bollywood Fashion Awards include:  Manish Malhotra, Neeta Lulla, Tarun Tahiliani, Ritu Beri, Suneet Varma, Diane Von Furstenberg, Anne Bowen (Designer to Gwyneth Paltrow, Liz Hurley, etc.).  The designers showcasing their collection this year are the fashion guru to the stars Manish Malhotra and India ’s most celebrated new designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Tickets can be purchased online by visiting www.bollywoodawards.com, www.meraticket.com, www.desiclub.com, www.sulekha.com, www.desiparty.com
