Todd
Mangatal
Greetings:
Many of
you have been receiving this e-mail for the last 4 years, and
some of you have just started receiving them recently.
As many of
you know when we started this project our main purpose was to
promote Caribbean Music and Events in an effort to expose
Caribbean Music to a mainstream market. Many of you may
also know when you start something new with one thing in mind,
you discover there are many other needs that must to be
fulfilled.
Since
the internet is a new frontier with many possibilities we have
discovered that there is so much we can achieve and accomplish
with this great method of communications.
It's
amazing how the communication in our community has changed in
the past few years. When we started promoting Caribbean
entertainment in the DC Area 10 short years ago the main means
of communication was radio advertising (which now is becoming
obsolete) and flyers (which has always been "hit or
miss".
Now
since Caribbean music is a niche market and really hasn't become
mainstream, radio and flyers were very difficult since the
audience was not targeted. Flyers can also be very
annoying as well, and most of them end up on the ground, which
is a nuisance and creates litter. Radio is very expensive
and again not targeted to the Caribbean market.
Yes, we
still have community radio as we did in the past, but these
stations do not offer advertising outlets (since they are
community based), and these programs are disappearing. Now
we have satellite radio which is beginning to "take
off", but again it is not targeted and do not offer
advertising opportunities (since they are national programs and
subscribers pay for this service - there is no need for
commercials.)
We also
now have internet radio, this is a great way to expose new music
constantly to a large base, but like the internet this is new
and is just starting to catch on. I'm certain in the very
near future this will be how we listen to radio, watch TV, and
how we get information, because not only will we have it in our
office and homes we will also have access to it in our cars and
everywhere, due to the ever growing wireless technology.
I ask
what is the best way to market the Caribbean Community and
entertainment, currently? The answer is opt-in E-mail
marketing. This is what we have been toying with for the
last few years here at Arious Entertainment. Yup we have
been experimenting with e-mail marketing!!!
Of
course with everything new, we have had our ups and downs.
When we started out we had a handful of e-mail addresses,
which eventually grew to over 35,000 people (in our subscriber
base.)
During
these last 4 years many new laws have taken effect, which has
certainly effected the way e-mail marketing has been done, and
this is because - as with anything many unscrupulous marketers
take advantage of things that are new and unregulated. Of
course we had to climb all of these hurdles and build a solid
foundation to get where we are today.
One
thing I am thankful for, that has come out of the last 4 years
of ups and downs is you our on-line family. What you see
now is just the beginning of what we are about to create.
Of course as we set out to do this, our main goal is to take
Caribbean music to the mainstream. We have done our
research, we have learned the market, we have studied the
mentally of the people that make up this market, and we now have
a network. A small network, which will grow over the next
few months as we take Arious Entertainment to the next
level. WE CAN ONLY DO THIS WITH YOUR HELP AND
SUPPORT!!!
So
please help us spread the word about this exciting on-line
family, and as you know the music is our main goal, but we also
want to create opportunities for each and every one of you to
achieve your dreams, expose and build your businesses, and open
up a line of communications which can positively take us all to
the next level.
Currently
we would like to offer business people, event promoters and club
owners the opportunity to expose their products, or
services to over 35,000 people for less than 1 cent
per person. If you would like to expose and build/grow
your business and gain valuable name recognition
worldwide contact us at 410-761-3797 or ariousentertainment@earthlink.net.
We also
need people who are interested in Caribbean Entertainment
marketing in the Baltimore, Washington, Virginia areas, and who
would like to assist Arious in our growth. Also, if you
are motivated, open-minded, honest and willing to learn the
Arious way, we urge you to contact us with a brief description
of how you can help and become a part of this ground floor
opportunity!!! ariousentertainment@earthlink.net

Hello
to all among our
On Line Family:
Thank
you so much for all you comments regarding my commentary
on Domestic Abuse/Violence. This is indeed a major
problem plaguing our communities. Your comments
were very enlightening, and you have helped confirmed my
fears and thoughts that there is much work to be done in
this area to support those who are
suffering.
To
the abused - Be assured that there is help out here for
those who needs it. I myself is only an e-mail
away, so just hit me up if you need help.
To
the abuser - I beg you to stop hiding the truth about
abusing the one you love, and seek help.
To
Those family members and friends who knows about the
abuse and has the means to stop the abuse - Don't be
afraid to report what you know to the police, simply
because you don't want the abuser to be put
away/jailed. Remember you might be saving your
friend's or family life. Since many of the abused
in many instances ends up dead.
Due
to the responses I received, I have placed the contact
information again. Also,
if there is any woman, or if you know of any woman/person who is
enduring domestic violence, please call any of the following
agencies or groups for help now!!!

International
Caribbean Music Festival

FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The International Caribbean
Music Festival, a one of a kind musical
celebration of the Caribbean Spirit.
Where
& When: Downtown Miami. Saturday,
October 7th, 2006, 2PM – 11PM
(Miami Carnival/ Columbus Day Weekend
Lineup:
Alison Hinds, Bunji
Garlin, Jovi Rockwell, Machel Montano, Morgan
Heritage, Red Rat, Rupee, Sizzla, Tami Chynn,
Wayne Wonder and more.
The 8th Annual International
Caribbean Music Festival (ICM Fest) previously
known as the Caribbean Music Fest takes place
October 7th, the Saturday before
Miami Carnival making Columbus Day weekend
irresistible to lovers of Caribbean music and
culture everywhere.
Inspired during a visit
to Trinidad’s infamous Carnival earlier this
year the promoters decided on adding a wider
range of Caribbean musical genres to a lineup
that already featured popular reggae acts. Fans
will now have the exceptional opportunity to see
the prolific Sizzla who has been called “the
most significant reggae artist since Bob
Marley”, the dynamic reggaeton duo Wisin Y
Yandel and Trinidadian soca favorite Machel
Montano perform on the same show.
The event’s unique
concept is best personified by the 3 time
International Soca Monarch Champ Bunji Garlin
who is also performing. Bunji is the undisputed
leader of the ragga soca genre he helped to
create. Ragga soca combines dancehall’s rap
with soca’s infectious beat.
Wayne Wonder will
perform from his extensive catalog of hits
including “No Letting Go” the hit that
helped him earn a Grammy nomination for his
album of the same name. Super group Morgan
Heritage will add a touch of roots reggae to the
mix.
Barbados will be
represented by Rupee who helped put soca on the
World stage with his video and song “Tempted
to Touch.” He will be joined fellow Bajan soca
diva Alison Hinds also known as the Ragamuffin
Queen. Hind’s “Roll It (girl)” has been
flirting with airwaves all year and she is on
the verge of becoming the first female soca
artist to crossover into the pop market.
ICM Fest favorite Red
Rat performs in his 7th consecutive
appearance. Tami Chynn an exciting new artist
continues the festival’s tradition of breaking
new artistes. Jovi Rockwell, Rempage and Gailann
are some of the many other artists completing
the diverse lineup.
The promoters promise
that “The International Caribbean Music
Festival will be a one of a kind musical
celebration of the Caribbean spirit.”
