Greetings
On-Line Family:
Incredible,
Usain Bolt has done it again!
Stunningly, he has beaten
his own world record in the 100m race at the Berlin 12th
IAAF World Championships in Athletics this past
Sunday, August 16th, and he did it in a sensational 9.58
seconds (lowering his record time by 0.11 of a second).
Indeed,
he is the fastest man in history.
The race itself seem extremely effortless for Mr.
Bolt, he appeared to be gliding along the track with
long strides, while distancing himself from the 2nd
runner up USA’s Tyson Gay, and just cruised along to
the finish line. What a distinguished sprinter and stellar athlete Mr. Bolt
is. I
understand he traveled at a top speed of nearly 27mph.
Additionally,
Mr. Bolt won the gold medal in the 200m
race in 19.19 seconds on August 20th,
and beat his own world record of 19.30.
These wins are fantastic victories for
Bolt, Jamaica and all Jamaicans.
The pride I see in the faces of my
Jamaican friends are unreal; they are ecstatic
and are truly bubbling with joy. READ
A LOVELY ARTICLE ABOUT USAIN BOLT Courtesy of
the Jamaica Gleaner and written by Dr. Wendel Abel
entitled "It's Bolt Again...Our Hearts Are
Full'.
While
checking out and reading all the stories and
reports about “Mr. Bolt’s” outstanding win
I became a bit disgusted with the many articles
that questioned his accomplishments and accused
him of “doping”.
What…drugs?
How awful!
A young man “on top of his game”
breaking world records, loving and doing what he
is excellent at, and the first thing that comes
out of the sport writers mouths is ‘Bolt
must be on drugs.” OH…NO, this is way out of line and absolutely dreadful and
distasteful.
I just wish these folks would stop with
all the accusations and negative talk and focus
on Bolt’s major achievements.
Actually, on August 19th the
IAAF stated that Usain Bolt is clear from all
and any drug suspicion.
In a statement, the athletics leading
body stated: “The IAAF can confirm that we
have received the results of anti-doping tests
conducted during the men’s 100m final.
“All the test results are negative.
Please note that all the athletes in this
final have also tested negative in all other
tests carried out prior to the 100m final.”
This statement should certainly put to
rest all the negative talk…Thank Goodness!!!
On
the 21st of August Usain Bolt turns
23 and these accomplishments are splendid
birthday gifts, and an excellent reason to
celebrate.
In fact, I understand the governing
Berlin Senate said they have planned a special
honor for Usain on the final day of the
championships - Sunday, with Major
Klaus Wowereith to hand him a gift.
Additionally, Berlin Senate Spokesman
Richard Meng stated: ”We want to say thank
you to Usain Bolt in a special way at the end of
the games on Sunday.
We have seen one of the most outstanding
achievements in athletics history from him ,
which we want to honour with a special
gesture.”
,
Winning
the gold in the100m and 200m and breaking his
own world records both times are truly awesome,
and certainly something for Mr. Bolt and all of
Jamaica to celebrate.
We at Arious wish Usain Bolt a Happy
Birthday, and congratulate him on all his
wins. We know there will be more “big
things" taking place with him in the
future. Check
him out on Saturday, August 22nd as
he and his team mates compete in the 4x100m
relay finals.
John Mulkeen of the IAAF stated: It
could prove to be beyond what any other human is
capable of for years to come.
Any human, that is, but the man himself
– Usain Bolt.”
We
at Arious congratulate all the other male and
female Jamaican sprinters on their wins, as well
as all the Caribbean athletics including those
from my home Trinidad. I want to especially
congratulate the female athletics from Jamaica
and Trinidad on their wins.
They all are fantastic. CLICK

As
I bring this week's E-Newsletter to a close, my
mind races over the issues dominating the news,
the stupid and hateful ones. (1) Michelle
Obama being "hated on" for wearing
shorts on the family vacation; (2) President
Obama being compared to and depicted as Hitler
for trying to reform Health Care; and (3) the
overall controversies regarding the Health Care
Reform Bill.
My
head is spinning with all the nonsense jabber,
the false rumors, bad information and
misinformation regarding this Health Care Reform
Bill. While many are for this bill, there
are others who are campaigning against it,
misrepresenting it, and disrupting meetings and
preventing members of congress from conducting
civil discussions regarding the bill.
Actually, the "right
wingers" and conservative commentators
are having a fabulous time creating
controversies, conspiracies and tearing down the
bill and President Obama.
Some
of the controversial issues people are
misinformed about, and are debating regarding
the Bill are: (1) the promoting of euthanizing
elderly Americans; (2) mandating free health
insurance for illegal immigrants; and (3) the
most controversial issue in the Bill is a
provision called "Death Panel".
A fair number of Americans think and has been
convinced that this "Death Panel"
proposal would allow the Government to make
decisions about when to stop providing medical
for the elderly. When in-fact the "Death
Panel" is a proposal that would allow
Medicare to pay doctors for consultations with
patients on end-of-life issues, such as living
wills, etc. And despite this proposal
being similar to one originally written by
Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson of Georgia, folks
such as Ex Governor of Alaska Sara Palin are bla...bla..bla...blabbing
and giving false information and advancing the
controversy about the bill; specifically in my
opinion to tear down the President. Many
groups and truth squads have done research on
the facts regarding the claims on the
"Death Panel" proposal and it has
been determined that all the rumors are
negative and false.
I
remember not so long ago one of the important
issues in America was reforming the Health Care
system; we had no trust in the medical
establishments, and we all cried and complained
that the system was broken and longed for it to
be restructured. We yearned for change,
and now that change is here the groaning and
complaining still exists. Personally, I
feel anything that can be done to make health
care coverage affordable is good, anything that
removes the regulations regarding pre-existing
conditions are good, and anything that removes
mandates and regulations are great,
etc...etc...etc.
Folks,
I'm not saying this Bill does not have some
flaws; actually, I'm sure it does, but we must
stop with the fighting against the Bill, because
essentially the Health Care system truly needs
some serious reform. CLICK
