Family and Happy Mother's Day to all our Moms! We
would like to share with you a lovely poem written by Ms. Shevon
Baptiste - a beautiful and talented young star right here from the
Washington DC area. In addition to Ms. Baptiste being a
poet, she is an excellent singer, who writes her own songs (she
began writing since the early age of 5). We are so happy to
have had the opportunity to witness this young lady's growth into
stardom. She impressed us the moment her mom introduced us, so much so
that we had to include her in a few of our events.
Even though we have shared this poem with you a year ago, it is so
beautiful that we feel it is important and appropriate to share it
with you our readers on this Mother's Day weekend! Please

We would like to Congratulate Mr. Hill
Harper (actor and writer) on the success of his book “Letters To
A Young Brother: Manifest Your Destiny". The paperback

Late last week we lost a very nice gentleman
from our area. A man who has been very much a part of our
Caribbean Community, actually in our opinion he was the best
Caribbean Caterer locally who specialized in Jerk, and who was
awarded on many occasions by the DC Reggae awards for being the
"Best Caterer". "Juicy" as we all called
him was just a very nice soul, always happy to see us, always very
pleasant, and it seemed it was very important to him to always
stop whatever he was doing to have a conversation with us.
The only unfortunate thing is, throughout all our conversations we never
found it necessary to ask him his given name ,
we just called him "Juicy". To the friends and
family of "Juicy", he was indeed a good man and we know
he's in good hands, because he was one of the nicest person we
met. May you find comfort from all the memories you hold
dear of Mr. Juicy.
Once
again we close out this e-mail by wishing all the Mothers who are
among our on-line family a very happy day on Sunday.
