The magnificence of the changing scenery informs us that it's November...certainly a time to remember!  

A time to embrace and savor the transformation of a sensational season  called "Fall".  

I am fascinated by the beauty of the green foliage that becomes a rainbow of brilliant colors; which changes to a blaze of orange, burgundy, gold, red, yellow, brown, and even purple.  Oh, what a truly lovely sight.  

I embrace the many changes that transpire throughout this month; the newness, the subtle dreaded darkness that comes ohhh to soon, and even the downward turn the temperature takes as the night air becomes crisper and chillier.  What a spectacular time of year this lovely November!

This is the time to expand into the purity of your beings, to get back into routine and follow along the pathway toward fulfilling your goals.  November, most importantly is the beginning of the holiday season, a time to share, to give thanks, to express love and appreciation, to spend time with family and good friends, and to treasure what is truly sacred in your lives.

Umm...I hope this lovely November ( "Fall") I will experience more of what is (to some extent) sacred to me: having a clear calendar, absolutely no commitments, and just chilling at home on my favorite sofa snuggled under a blanket with some wine, Lindt chocolate and great reggae and neo soul music - from the likes of Bares Hammond, Tarrus Riley, Raheem DeVaughn, Ledisi, Michell Ndegeocello, and even Vikter Duplaix - just to name a few.

Family...Please enjoy this lovely season! 

"Just Vybing"

Last Sunday, November 1st we attended the Caribbean Students Scholarship Fund, Inc. (CSSF Inc.) Fashion Show and Fundraiser featuring Designer Robert Young, The CLOTH, and it was truly nice.  We were somewhat late due to the Daylight Saving Time Change, but I must say we were absolutely glad to have made it because the fashions were gorgeous. 

The love affair Designer Robert Young has with The CLOTH is so very apparent, his pieces are relaxing and cool, as well as beautiful, and some very eloquent.  

Even though all the models were beautiful, we were pleasantly surprised to see 2 of the male models who we have known for a number of years now, and who we never knew were models.  Funny, their name currently slips my mind, but they were the highlight of the show in my opinion.  They were savvy and in their own individual uniqueness displayed Robert's exceptional designs of the Cloth for men.  They were fantastic, and so were all the female models.

The CSSF Inc. Team had a large crowd at this Fundraiser, actually all their tickets were gone (sold out) prior to the day of the show, so we are delighted they were able to raise funds to present to the lucky 2010 Caribbean Students scholarship winner/s.  Congratulations to the entire CSSF Inc. It's been a while since I shared anything with you regarding "On The Music", so here is my opportunity to share what I experienced in Trinidad a few months ago.  Actually, it was so much about the family on this trip, that we didn't get an opportunity to really check out the music scene.  However, one memory sticks in my mind, and it's of Singer Phil Collins song "Just One More Night" redone by Reggae Artist " Busy Signal" entitled "One More Night"

"Busy Signal's "One More Night' was so popular in Trinidad that it seemed at any given moment if you stood still for a second the song was whirling through the air, and echoing throughout the entire island.  I guess everyone had it playing in their vehicles in bars (rum shops/snackettes), and in their homes ( constantly.)   Everyone I spoke to simply adored this song.  

Gosh, we were all the way up in the Toco area in Trinidad (many call it the bush), and sure enough "One More Night" was blasting out of the bars,/ rum shops and  snackettes.   It was amazing to me that this little song was so popular.  Needless- to- say, Busy Signal was in Trinidad while we were there for the biggest Independence Day Celebration along with Machal Montano and many other great soca and reggae artists, and the frenzy around this concert was incredible.  Everyone had to go see Busy Signal, and from all the reports about the crowds, they certainly did!  

The weird thing about this was earlier this year I saw my husband Todd vybing to a few songs, he later shared with me that it was Busy Signal's "Unknown Number", and "Trading Places" he  proceeded to tell me "other artists better watch out, because Busy Signal is on his way to becoming a big star".  Wow...was he right!

OUR CONDOLENCES TO: 

All the families who lost their loved ones by the hands of the Serial Killer in Cleveland Ohio.  Approximately 11 female bodies were found this week on the killer's property.  It's so sad that all these women were missing and there were no media coverage of their disappearance, none on the popular Nancy Grace's show on CNN nor any other show.

All the Families of the Soldiers who were killed (12) and wounded (31) in Fort Hood Texas Military Base by the hands of Major Nadal Malik Hasan!

We congratulate sisters Fiona and Nikki Wright on the 5th Anniversary of their Caribbean Vibes Radio (Internet Radio Station).  Caribbean Vibes Radio invites you to celebrate with them on Tuesday, November 10th @ 7:30 pm - 12 Midnight at Carolina Kitchen, in Hyattsville Maryland.   

Among the 5 bands who will be performing at this great event is our Stars Carl Malcolm and the Positive Vibration Band (Aneeta, Tyrone and Max).  So go out and check out Carl and the PVB along with The New Kingston Band from New York, and Washington DC's  own The Image Band, Proverbs Band and Inspiration Reggae Band.  There is NO COVER at this event.  Carolina Kitchen is located at: 6501 America Blvd., Hyattsville, D 20782, 301-927-2929 or www.reggaetuesdays.com. 

Surprisingly, on many occasions Fiona Wright would make it a point to let us know that we (Arious) were an intricate part in her launching her Caribbean Vibes Radio station, and it's really nice to be acknowledged and even thanked (something we rarely receive)!  WE SINCERELY WISH FIONA AND NIKKI ALL THE BEST, and many more years of success with Caribbean Vibes Radio!

Please remember the play "Much Ado About Nothing" is currently running nightly at the Folger Theatre in Washington DC until November 29, 2009.  This interesting modernized hip version of Shakespeare's  romantic comedy has a multi-ethnic cast and is set in modern day Washington DC during the DC Caribbean Carnival Season.
