Wishing You The Happiest Thanksgiving!

The beautiful word THANKS is what so many of us will be saying to our family and friends today.  Yup, once again the year has turned its circle, and thanksgiving is upon us.  

Thanksgiving - A celebration of friends and family, as well as a day to appreciate the struggles of all we endured throughout the year.  During this time the presence of love fills the air, and the reflections of the past is nurtured in thought.  It's a time for focusing on the good in our lives, and being thankful for the people around us, and a time for loving, caring and giving.  We visualize and celebrate the work we have done, as well as the mental battles we have overcome.

Indeed, it is the time of year we give thanks, rejoice with our families and friends, count our blessings and give thanks for them.  Certainly, it is a time for sharing, spreading happiness, and spending time with all those we love dearly; appreciating the good and bad times of togetherness.

On this day we gather around a festive table laughing, talking and most importantly expressing our gratitude.  At this time we look forward to the holidays, and in celebration we raise our glass to make a toast for all that we have accomplished and for our family that have been made strong and rich by a deep and true love.

Although, I try to maintain an attitude of gratitude and practice thanksgiving on a daily basis; on this special day I always remain mindful of the wonderful things I have accomplished, and I reflect on the many blessings in my life and in my family's life.  I give thanks for being able to know my purpose and being able to begin living it.  I give thanks for being able to work towards and reach my goals and dreams.  My sincere appreciation and gratitude is expressed through prayer for my work, for my environment and for my relationship with my spirit, my colleagues and associates.  

These past two years have been really difficult for many of us due to the continuous increase in the unemployment rate, as well as the economy that is still doing very poorly.  Our lives have been turned upside down, and it is absolutely understandable that many of us feel we have nothing to be thankful for.   However, we must never feel alone; because unfortunately there are so many who are in worst positions.  We must at this time hold dear to the love and closeness of our families.  Celebrate and pray with them in the best way you can.  Please know that during this holiday we at Arious pray that before long normalcy returns to your lives.

Dearest on-line family, we are so full of gratitude because of your continued support, and is very thankful that you have been so loyal.  We are certainly blessed to have each and every one of you, and we offer our thanks to you for your continued interest, readership, support and feedback.  We are thankful that you have allowed us to share our experiences, thoughts, and most importantly for continuing to listen to what we have to say.  

During this Thanksgiving holiday some of our children (sons and daughters,) fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers and friends are unable to give thanks with us, because they are overseas serving us proud as they fight the "war on terror".  For this, we at Arious thanks and honor them for their sacrifices, and even though they are far away their spirit remains with us during this Thanksgiving season.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to each and every one of these soldiers as they serve time abroad - spending this special time far away from their families. 

May each of you our on-line family, friends and family members have a Blessed and Happy Day of Thanksgiving.  We wish you good cheer, good companionship, good eats, joy and prosperity.  Of all our many blessings we are thankful for all of you.  You are truly our inspiration.  To all of you we wish the happiest Thanksgiving Ever!

The Happenings

The Thanksgiving Appreciation Party you can't miss in Washington DC is none other than SekouFlex Appreciation Party.  This event will take place on Saturday November 28, 2009 @ The Library in Wash. DC.  

Sekou D. - a dedicated and pretty humble young promoter totally appreciates the support you have given him throughout the years, and this is his way of showing his appreciation.  

One of my favorite female conscious reggae singers will be performing in Maryland this weekend.  Indeed a lioness on the rise, Queen Ifrika is truly superb and her music is climbing the charts quite nicely.  Along with Queen Ifrika is Reggae Singer Tony Rebel.  I expect this show to be an excellent one, so check it out at the Crossroads! www.crossroadsclub.com.

Beatrice W. Welters - The newly appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Beatrice W. Welters is currently the President and Chairman of the AnBryce Foundation, which provides long-term academic and leadership enrichment programs for underserved youth. Ms. Welters founded the Foundation in 1995. From 1977 to 1991, she worked at IBM where she held several roles, including systems engineer. Ms. Welters was also a past Presidential Appointee to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts serving on its Executive Committee. She continues to serve on the Library of Congress Madison Council. Ms. Welters also serves as a Trustee at the Brookings Institute, the Aspen Institute, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Washington Jesuit Academy, and at the Maret School. Ms. Welters holds an A.A. from Ulster County Community College, a B.A. from Manhattanville College, and an M.A. from the City University of New York.
