Ok for all you roots rock
reggae fans, here's a great show. Steel
Pulse will play at Recher Theatre in Towson,
MD. This will not be like the other shows because of the
intimate vibe because the room is not that large, holds around
700 people. The show will be Friday Oct 8th
at 8pm so you might want to make plans this week.

The
Annual World
Clash “The
Greatest Clash on Earth”,
will be taking place
this Columbus Day weekend
10/9/04-10/10/04, and
it has expanded into a weekend long affair.
Irish and Chin, Inc. launches the 2004 World Clash at the Amazura
Entertainment Complex in Queens, New York. This event has expended
to include a female clash where several leading female sound systems
will clash for a title, additionally Host Tony Matterhorn and Squeeze
(Link Up Media) will feature many sounds who will be competing: Black Kat, Ricky Trooper,
Freddy, One Love, Klassique, Young Hawk and LP.
The winner of this event earns the bragging
rights to the World Clash Title and clout in the international clash

The "One Caribbean" Artist In Action For Caribbean
Relief Fund Benefit Concert that took place on Sunday, October 3rd, was a
tremendous success...the community came out and really supported. The Goal of $10,000 was reached plus
Washington Wizards Star Etan Thomas matched this amount ($10,000)
making it a total of $20,000 raised! Being a part of the organizing
committee, I was unable to actually see the concert, but
from what I could hear, it was great. I personally want to thank
all the people that was a part of this committee and to the many
volunteers who worked very hard to
make it such a success...We did it Guys!!!! I want to
especially thank the individuals that had no problem being a part of my
team on the day of the event. Thank you Maureen, Beverlee, Colleen,
Jeanette, and Erica!!!!! Thanks to Lightfoot for donating the
sales from her CD to this effort.

event.
| The
actual concert was very good and very well put together. I'm so
proud to see the talent we have here in DC, and most importantly it was
great to see the community come out and support this very important
cause. Special congratulations to Loughton Sargeant from the Image
Band and Peter Humphries from the Oasis Band for brainstorming and
coming up with this wonderful idea. The community just came out
and gave lots of money, food and clothes. All who were involved
with the actual organizing of this event did a wonderful job. It
was really nice to see all of the Ambassadors and Prime Ministers who
attended.
At one point I was really surprised when I saw secret service rolling up
to the gate, I thought George Bush was attempting to enter the
venue, because they came in with gray suits and ear phones lodged in their ears
and "cased out" the entire venue. That
was a great site!
All
in All, this was the best event I've experienced in quite some
time. The outstanding support really surprised
me. The Community really came together on this one
and really gave their support to the many victims in the
islands, and showed lots of love.
WE
CAN ACHIEVE SO MUCH WHEN WE COME TOGETHER!
On
this note, have a nice weekend...time for me/us to head to
Miami, so I can drink a few Heinekens in the Sun. Check us
at the Marlin Hotel on Sunday Night for the Last Lap
"Stamina" Event, and during the day at the Broward
Carnival. On Saturday, we (Arious) will be looking for you
on the streets of South Beach!

In
closing don't forget that the Trinidad &Tobago Association of Washington DC is collected items
for the Hurricane Victims in the Islands. Drop off canned foods and clothes, etc. to their headquarters
on Georgia Avenue in DC. Monetary donations will be collected as
well and should be made payable to Trinidad and Tobago Association
Hurricane Relief Fund. For the address, the drop off times and the
