Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
U.S. Black Civil
Rights Leader and Clergyman
1929-1968
"I Have A
Dream" speech

Quotes
by Dr. King:
*
"Hatred
paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses
life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love
illuminates it"
*
"Like
an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats
away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values
and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful
as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true
with the false and the false with the true."
* "The
hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined
nonconformists who are
dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood."
"Our
lives begin to end the day we become silent about things
that matter."
*
"We
must learn to live together as brothers or perish together
as fools."

Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. walked so Barack Obama could
Run.
He paved the way for Peace, Justice, Freedom and
equality for all man!
Positively
The
Dream
Is
Becoming
A
Reality!
Barack Obama Ran so
that we can fly!
He
is
brilliant, inspirational and the manifestation of the
American Dream, actually my vision of the American Dream.
I along with many in America are swollen with pride
because of his exceptional accomplishment.
He has made
an extraordinary step forward on the nation's "long
journey" of overcoming the pain of the past and
making race not the factor in our lives.
While
his presidency will certainly go a long way toward
bettering the way for all Americans, sadly the way he will
be viewed by some, will not change the hearts and minds of
the many among us who will judge him based on stereotypes
and the color of his skin.
His
victory says to all Americans, no matter their race,
creed, or color, that anything is possible. Nonetheless,
the
work is not done, it's only beginning. Let's all Say
A Prayer for our new President!
Therefore,
We
must Continue Building The dream and working toward it becoming
fulfilled!

Quotes
by Barack Obama: * "It
took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to where we
are today, but we have just begun. Today we begin in
earnest the work of making sure that the world we leave
our children is just a little bit better than the one we
inhabit today."
* "...In
the white community, the path to a more perfect union
means acknowledging that what ails the African-American
community does not just exist in the minds of black
people; that the legacy of discrimination - and current
incidents of discrimination, while less overt than in the
past - are real and must be addressed"
* "We
may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am
tonight that we will get there. I promise you, we as a
people we will get there."

Maryland. Additionally, 3.5 square miles of downtown DC
including the business district and government buildings
surrounding the National Mall will be closed to traffic starting
the afternoon of January 19th (the day before the inauguration -
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) and will not open until rush hour on
January 21st. As a matter of fact as the week passed we have
been getting word about the many additional streets that will be
closed. For all the details: CLICK

As
you noticed, this week we bombarded you with a lot of events and
information, which we ask for your forgiveness and understanding.
Please know that we absolutely hate to “overkill” on
anything we do.
However, being that it is the most historic inauguration of
our lifetime, we felt it was important to inform all of you about
the events taking place in and around the Washington DC area.
Have
a wonderful weekend! Celebrate Martin Luther king, Jr. Day
by honoring him and reflecting on the "bridges he crossed and
moved" for this historical Inauguration to became a
